THE PERFECTING CHURCH BACKGROUND

Established in 2011, The Perfecting Church serves the culturally, ethnically and economically diverse Greater Philadelphia region.

The Perfecting Church is a healthy, thriving, multi-generational congregation with an average of 700+ weekend attendees and a membership of well over 1300.  The congregation of The Perfecting Church also gathers during the week in its 25+ small discipleship groups known as Pcells.  It is here that we learn to be 21st century followers of Jesus applying the word of God to our lives in a fast-paced and increasingly polarized world.

The Perfecting Church (TPC) has a deeply held core value of not simply gathering as the church, but in seeing its members equipped, organized and released to use their vocations, passions and talents to extend God’s Kingdom into the surrounding region.  The Church is known for loving its neighbors through its many initiatives organized under Loving Our Cities, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving as the community engagement arm of The Perfecting Church, with a mission to enhance the quality of life where we live, work, serve, and worship!.

Those who call TPC home love the emphasis on doing life together and seeing the church mobilized to serve others.  We have a focus both locally and globally to see disciples released to extend the Kingdom of God where needs are unmet, people are marginalized and the deepest divisions exist.  In its first year of existence TPC began and continues to send teams to the West Bank to work in the midst of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.  That work has shaped the relentless and selfless way that TPC loves and serves others both at home and abroad.

There are three teams providing overall leadership and direction to The Perfecting Church.  The Ministerial Advisor Team (Lead Pastor and Elders) provides strategic direction and implementation oversight of the mission and vision. Our Elders are responsible for spiritual formation and member care including counseling and discipleship.  The Legal Board provides operational, fiscal and managerial direction to Perfecting Ministries.
