Loving God, Loving Our Neighbors!

Loving Our Cities serves as the community engagement arm of The Perfecting Church to enhance the quality of life where we live, work, serve and worship!  Join us in service of that mission by participating in one of the three new engagements Loving Our Cities is launching in the greater Philadelphia region.

Event:

An Ambassador for Peace:  A Multi-Faith Engagement

Details:

Join The Perfecting Church as we host the first of a series of gatherings convened with Congregation Rodeph Shalom and Masjidullah to provide a forum to build bridges with our neighbors, undergirded by a shared dedication to protect religious freedom.

Wednesday, November 1, 2017
7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
American Bible Society
101 North Independence Mall East, 8th Floor
Philadelphia, PA

Unlike “inter-faith,” where there can be the subjugation of one’s beliefs for the goal of unity, The Perfecting Church is deeply committed to the concept of “multi-faith,” to foster dialogue, mutual understanding and respect of differences amongst the three Abrahamic faiths: Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

Answer the call to serve as a peacemaker by participating in this historic gathering.  Attendance is free, but due to limited seating, registration is required.

Event:

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Serving our neighbors at the Camden Academy Charter School Network Food Pantry in Cramer Hill has unearthed language as a barrier to employment and other necessities for self-sufficiency and an enhanced quality of life.  In response, Loving Our Cities is seeking a team of 3-5 people to teach ESL classes.

Classes will be held on Wednesday or Thursday nights from 7 – 9 p.m. at Camden Academy Charter High School.  Participation does not require you to be bilingual.
